The dedicated technicians at Ritz Plumbing have been servicing Southern California and the Greater Los Angeles area for more than eight decades. With so many years of experience under our belts, we know what dedication, skill, and customer service mean for our industry.
Where would we be without hot water? While Los Angeles is not well-known for its chilly winters, hot water heaters are still critical for washing dishes, clothes, and yourself. Although ice cold water is great to quench the thirst of the animals at the Los Angeles Zoo in the mid-summer heat, it does little to help those who enjoy relaxing bubble baths to cap off the end of a hard day’s work. If you find yourself with little or no hot water, allow our technicians to help fix what has been broken and get you your hot water back. We will ask you about the problem as well as any symptoms or other things that you have noticed within the last several weeks in order to effectively pinpoint the problem. While our skilled team can usually repair hot water heaters, in some cases, units are old and require replacement. However, we will do everything we can to save you time, money, and aggravation by thoroughly investigating the unit as well as other potential causes of a lack of hot water.
If you feel confident repairing a broken fixture or clogged drain yourself and just need the part, not the service, you can rest easy knowing that we use a variety of quality, professional-grade products. However, what happens when you put that washer on too tight, or when your plumbing snake gets caught in the toilet while attempting to fix a clogged drain? You may not want to admit it, but if you need our help, you can call on us at any time, and we won’t say a word about your attempted efforts. We understand the importance of using high-quality parts, and the products we install on a day-to-day basis are designed to last for years. From sales, repairs, and installations, Ritz Plumbing stands behind each and every aspect of our business, and there is nothing we would install in your home or business that we would not otherwise use ourselves.
We stand by our one-hour guarantee: When we say we can get a technician to your front door or office within 60 minutes, we mean it. We have teams stationed by the STAPLES center, in Signal Hill, near Botanical Gardens, by the Los Angeles River, and everywhere in between. Whether you are a resident or a business owner, if you live in the Greater Los Angeles area, Ritz Plumbing has got you covered. Our team is readily available and will meet with you either at your home or business and fix the issue so that you can resume your life and business as normal. In many cases, our technicians are able to remedy the problem with no major repairs, but should you need additional work, rest assured that we will be with you every step of the way.
What can we say? We’ve been serving the residents of Los Angeles for nearly eight decades, and generations have depended on us for reliable service, quick fixes, and skilled installations. Our experience doesn’t just highlight our training in our industry, but it also sheds light onto our commitment to serving you with trust and respect. At Ritz Plumbing, we realize that, as a customer, you have many options when it comes to your residential and commercial plumbing needs. Why take the risk of hiring an over-priced and under-skilled company when Ritz Plumbing is a quick phone call away? There is a reason that we have been in operation for so long – we treat each of our customers with reverence, and we make sure that you are comfortable and completely understand the process and the work needed to fix your problems.
Afraid of spending too much money to call a plumber after-hours? Don’t be. Ritz Plumbing doesn’t charge by the hour, so you will only be responsible for paying for what is needed to fix your problem, and we will stay with you as long as it takes to make sure that it is done right. If your sump pump is failing or you find a small leak and fear it taking a turn for the worst, don’t wait until the last minute. If you do, you might find that the expense of damages is significantly more than calling one of our emergency plumbers to help you. Our emergency plumbers understand the importance of quickly responding to calls, as even several minutes could potentially mean devastating damages, depending on the leak or problem. When you call us, we guarantee that we will have an emergency plumber arriving at your location within one hour. How many other plumbing and pipe repair companies can say that?
Free? Yes, that’s right. How could you possibly turn down something that’s free? We understand how nerve-wracking it can be to call a company and get a quote for a service, particularly if you are unsure of what that service will entail. Have you ever had technicians seem to drag out the simplest repair by all but making themselves at home on your couch while they “wait” for a part? If so, you will be happy to know that, unlike other companies, Ritz Plumbing charges by the job, not the hour. This benefits you as you will always know our estimate right away as we will do our best to give you the most accurate quote to the best of our knowledge depending on the information you provide. In some cases, a relatively easy fix such as broken pipe valves, a clogged toilet, or a leaking faucet may turn into something a little more complicated, but you will always be informed of our progress and will have complete control over the work that we do. If you choose not to continue with our recommended maintenance or additional repairs, that’s okay. The ball is in your court.
Whether you need emergency assistance in your California State University apartment or you live by yourself and need help right in the middle of the night, you need an experienced plumber you can trust. There is nothing worse than a leaking copper pipe interrupting the Los Angeles Dodgers overtime game, but we are dedicated to servicing our customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, even if it means that we can’t watch the game ourselves. We also pride ourselves on looking at the whole picture rather than just a small problem, so that we can easily identify if there is something larger at work. From leak detection to emergency gas line repair, we believe that receiving calls at all hours of the day keeps us on our toes, and there is nothing more exciting to us than knowing we are helping our customers with their emergencies. We know that your problem can’t wait, so we will set our DVRs to record the Los Angeles Kings game, and we will get to you as quickly as we can.
Although the pipe systems that run from Dodger Stadium to Port Los Angeles may be some of the best, there is always a chance that the plumbing lines will build up with debris and become clogged. If sewer lines are left un-cleared, you run the risk of potentially hazardous sewer gases escaping into your residence or business. Should this happen, your family or patrons could become ill and hold you responsible for failing to remedy the problem. However, one of the biggest parts of our job is drain cleaning, and there is no job that is too messy or complicated for us. Although some other plumbers may just plug the holes or clear out a clog, we understand the importance of fixing the problem at its root. If you need additional work such as pipe fittings, copper repiping, or other work to ensure that the problem won’t happen again if it seems to be an ongoing issue, the team at Ritz Plumbing knows just what to do. We will walk you through the process and check to make sure that the lines are free and clear of debris before we leave your location. When you call on our technicians, you can rest assured that you will never feel uninformed or left hanging; our skilled team will answer any questions you have about your drain or sewer line to ensure that you understand the work that we are about to do.
Ritz Plumbing is a commercial and residential emergency provider offering a broad range of emergency and non-emergency services, and we fully guarantee our workmanship. When you need a plumber Los Angeles residents trust, Ritz Plumbing is just a phone call away.

March 2021
We received a call from a business owner who was suffering from a leaking sink.
We sent a technician to her property, and he was able to immediately determine that the washer needed to be replaced. He explained to the client that over time, hard water can build up and destroy the seal around the washer, but it was fortunately an easy and inexpensive fix.
Our technician turned off the property’s water supply before replacing the worn washer with a brand new one. The homeowner was pleased with our timely and accurate assessment, and she admitted that she was expecting a much larger problem.
August 2020
A customer wanted to know if we would install an earthquake valve on her property because her insurance company told her she was unable to open her new business without one.
Our technician met with the customer, and she decided that a motion sensing caging ball that falls into the pipe to block the flow of gas in the event of seismic activity would fit her needs.
The technician shut off the gas, placed the valve on the houseline and made sure the fittings were firmly connected before he restored gas to the building.
August 2020
A business owner was informed by one of his employees that the sink in the men’s restroom was no longer draining. He told us that he sent one of his workers to the store to purchase a drain cleaner that had helped, but not fixed, the problem.
The technician first attempted to use a plumber’s snake in the drain but was unable to break up the clog. He briefly turned off the water in the business and removed the P-trap under the sink where he then found a large wad of paper napkins.
He removed the large of napkins, replaced the P-trap, restored the water and ensured that he had fixed the problem before leaving the property.
July 2020
Although it was July and most people in Los Angeles were not thinking about the heat, we received a call from a client who was suffering from a lack of hot water in his home.
After interviewing the client, our technician determined that the electric within the unit was malfunctioning and that the hot water heater was more than 20 years old.
The technician informed the client that his best option would be to replace the entire unit as they are only typically designed to last for 10 to 12 years.
July 2020
A client contacted us complaining of a lack of hot water in his home. His wife was becoming frustrated because she had tried to shower two separate days, and the water just wasn’t hot.
After our technician arrived at the residence, he immediately noticed that the pilot light was not on.
Since it was a newer style water heater, the technician was able to push a button to spark the generator and ignite the pilot light. He placed a follow-up call to the client who confirmed that they finally had hot water again.
June 2020
We recently sent a technician to a residence after a customer reported that his dishwasher wouldn’t start.
The technician checked the power supply to make sure that the shutoff switch was turned on and that the machine was plugged in before testing the motor. He explained to the customer that sometimes the motor can stick, especially if the dishwasher hasn’t been used in a while.
To get it running again, the technician first turned off the electrical power and used his hands to manually spin the fan blades on the motor. He then restored power and verified that the unit was working.
June 2020
A woman called us to schedule a technician to come to her home after her garbage disposer stopped working.
We sent a technician to assess the situation, and he found out that the unit was quiet which likely indicated an electrical malfunction. He checked the circuit breaker and found that it hadn’t tripped, so he informed the client that it was most likely a faulty switch or a defective garbage disposal.
He turned off the circuit breaker and replaced the switch before restoring power to the unit. The technician checked to make sure that the disposer was operational before leaving the residence.
May 2020
A customer called us to report the sound of water dripping in his home. After checking the sinks, bathtubs and fixtures, he turned to our technicians for help.
He informed the customer that the leak was coming from inside the house rather than outside the building. After checking all of the fixtures, the technician saw a sink in the basement that the customer had admittedly overlooked.
We were able to turn off the water, replace the worn washer and restore water supply to the house.
May 2020
We received a call from a mother who had reported a gradual decrease in the flush speed of her toilet in her one-bathroom home.
Upon arrival at the home, the technician noticed a large tree in the yard and immediately assumed that the roots of the tree had grown into the pipe over time. To test his theory, the technician located the pipe, dug a small hole alongside it and used an underground camera to verify his initial assumption.
He was then able to dig out the corroded, root-infested pipe and replace it with a new PVC plastic pipe to reduce the chance of the issue reoccurring.
April 2020
A young couple had recently moved into a home and had noticed that water would not drain in the bathtub when they showered.
We sent a technician to the residence who immediately noticed that there were hairs and bits of paper sticking out of the drain.
The technician was able to remove the safety plate from the drain and insert his plumbing snake into the pipe. After moving it around inside the drain, the technician was able to finally pull out large amounts of hair and papers from old shampoo labels. He replaced the cover and turned on the faucet in the bathtub to ensure that the drain was properly functioning.
April 2020
A mother was unsure as to why her cabinet under the sink was repeatedly soaked with water.
We sent a technician to meet with her, and he determined that the faucet was not leaking. He then turned off the water supply, examined the dishwasher next to the sink and noticed that the drain hose was loose.
He was able to tighten the clamp where the hose met the disposal to restore water flow throughout the line and turned the water back on to test the unit before leaving the job.
March 2020
A landlord had received complaints from her tenants that the water pressure was low throughout the building, so she turned to us for help.
We sent a technician to her location, and his first thought was that the shutoff valve might not be completely turned on since the whole building was reporting the same problem. As he suspected, the technician noticed that the shutoff valve was not in the “on” position, so the water was not reaching the tenants’ fixtures at the right speed.
He turned on the shutoff valve and called the landlord to make sure that he had fixed the problem.
February 2020
We received a call from a homeowner whose garbage disposer was making a grinding noise when he tried to turn it on.
The technician met with the client and began by turning off the electricity to the unit. He made sure that the disposer was free of any debris and inspected the wiring to make sure it was properly functioning. The technician concluded that the blades on the unit itself were loose and moving up and down rather than from side to side.
He informed the client that he may consider purchasing a new unit since replacing the loose blades may cost just as much, if not more.
February 2020
A customer called us after he had tried to use a plunger and drain cleaners to clear a blockage in his toilet.
After speaking with the customer, our technician realized that there may be a large blockage at the lowest part of the pipe.
The technician turned off the water supply and loosened the bolts that were holding the toilet to the floor. He was then able to remove the pipe to clear the clog and reattach the pipe to the toilet fixture. The customer assisted our technician in moving the toilet back into its proper location, and the technician tightened the bolts before restoring the water supply and ensuring that the toilet was properly flushing.
January 2020
A client contacted us with a report of a leaking pipe underneath her bathroom sink in her residence near El Dorado Park. She had attempted to use a wrench to tighten the pipe as she believed it had come loose, but the pipe continued to drip water.
Before examining the client’s complaint, the technician investigated the rest of the home using a water leak detector. He needed to verify that the pipe in the bathroom sink was the only issue and that the larger pipe system did not require assessment.
Although the technician agreed that the client did the right thing in her attempts to tighten the pipes, the technician saw that the pipe had become extremely corroded over the years and that a PVC pipe may be better suited for the client’s needs. He turned off the water supply to the home, removed the corroded system and fit a PVC pipe in its place. Before leaving the residence, the technician restored water flow and tested the pipe.
January 2020
We received a call late one night from a teenaged girl whose parents had went out for the evening. The girl had went into the basement and noticed that it had begun to flood and smelled rather foul. Her parents were unreachable, so we dispatched a plumber to the residence.
After surveying the situation, the technician determined that there was a block in the sewer lines, so he used a small camera to inspect the pipes and locate the source of the clog.
He was then able to feed an auger into the line to clear the debris.
January 2020
While some customers first try to remedy clogged toilets with store-bought drain cleaners, we were contacted by a mother who did not believe in using chemicals in her home. When the technician arrived at the residence, he explained that some cleaners can damage the pipes and fittings, so she did the right thing by calling us.
The technician used auger equipment and fed a plumber’s snake into the pipe. After moving the snake around, he was able to locate a small toy boat that the mother’s toddler-aged son likely flushed down the toilet.
He extracted the toy and before leaving, checked to make sure that the toilet was properly flushing.
December 2019
A client requested that a technician come to his property and perform a full evaluation of his sump pump.
Our technician arrived, ensured that the electrical connections were properly functioning and that the float was moving appropriately with the water in the unit. The technician did not notice any debris in the pump that would cause it to clog, so he informed the client that his sump pump was working well.
He gave the customer a list of things to watch out for such as leaking or foul-smelling water that could be indicative of a potential problem.
December 2019
A business owner called us to report a sewer smell in his building.
After our technician arrived, he used a miniature camera to examine the sewer pipes and saw that one pipe in particularly was particularly corroded.
He informed the business owner that his best option in this case would be to completely replace the pipe to prevent hazardous sewer gases from escaping into the building. The client agreed with our technician and gave him permission to replace the damaged copper pipe with a more resilient PVC model.
November 2019
A first-time homeowner recently moved into a property and wanted to change out her bathroom faucet fixture.
At her convenience, we dispatched a technician to her home, and he began the installation by ensuring that the home’s water supply was turned off. He then removed the old faucet, removed the previous putty and applied a new seal before attaching the new faucet’s spray hose.
The technician attached the hose to the supply stub, made sure that the nuts and washers were correctly mounted and reconnected the water supply to test the fixture and make sure it was not leaking.
October 2019
After receiving a report from a customer who smelled gas in his home, we immediately sent a technician to the residence.
Our technician shut off the gas to the property right away to prevent an explosion and saw that the only gas lines to the home were for heat. He dug a small trench in the yard to locate the pipe and then inserted a camera where he found that a tree root had grown into the pipe.
He disconnected the damaged pipe and replaced it with a new one before reattaching the line and filling in the trench.
October 2019
A homeowner was unsure whether her sewer was leaking. She hadn’t noticed any damage in her basement, but her yard always appeared to be sopping wet when it hadn’t rained.
We sent a technician to meet with her, and he determined that he would need to inspect the sewer line before offering a solution.
He dug two holes on either side of the pipe and was able to blast the old, damaged pipe out while replacing it with a new one at the same time. We did a follow-up call to the homeowner several weeks later, and she reported no excess water in her yard.
